GO HOME AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS
Mark 5:1-20

LIFE LESSON FROM THE SCRIPTURE:
Tell our friends about Jesus because it is a great blessing, responsibility, and a great way to impact eternity.

INTRODUCTION TO THE SCRIPTURE:
We are here this very moment because of how much the Lord has done for us, and how he has had mercy on us. We hardly know what to do in response to the great blessings of being a Christian. With Paul we exclaim, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us in Christ Jesus with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:3). We know how to praise, but what should we do?

DISCUSSION OF THE SCRIPTURE:

Jesus saved those who were in terrible situations–Mark 5:1-5
At one time we have all been lost–Romans 3:23; 1 Corinthians 15:21.
We cannot allow ourselves to be given over to the world–1 John 4:1-6.
We must be transformed by God’s Word–Romans 12:1-2

We truly have a wonderful Savior–Mark 5:6-13
Our Savior is recognized by both the righteous and unrighteous–Mark 5:6-7.
Our Savior is Lord over both the righteous and unrighteous–Mark 5:8-9
Our Savior is powerful enough to send our “demons” away.
Isaiah 61:1-2 (cf. Luke 4:18-19).

We must respond to him in one of two ways–Mark 5:14-20
We can reject Christ–Mark 5:14-17
We can proclaim Christ–Mark 5:18-20
Matthew 28:19-20
Acts 8:4
Romans 1:15-17
2 Timothy 4:1-4

INVITATION FROM THE SCRIPTURE:
There are souls hurting every where around us. We may see them in the obscure places and wish to keep them there, but God loves them and they need God. There are hurting souls all around us every day who need the Savior’s loving hand and the family of God for comfort. There is a sinner who desperately needs and wants the best life only God can offer. Why not go to proclaim how much Jesus has done for us?

“If the name of the Savior is precious to you,
If His care has been constant and tender and true,
If the light of His presence has brightened your way,
O will you not tell of your gladness today?”

“If the souls all around you are living in sin,
If the Master has told you to bid them come in,
If the sweet invitation they never have heard,
O will you not tell them the cheer-bringing word?”
